I never realised how much work it is to drive a car. I had my first driving lesson yesterday and it was really, really good. It was a two hour lesson from 1015 with the AA. It’s a nice car, but I won’t bore you with all the details. It was a new Ford Focus. That is all I will say. The cockpit looks like this. A fine car. We started with the simple stuff, like moving, then pulling away, and coming to a stop without stalling. Then gear changes and so on for two hours. Very enjoyable. My next lesson is next week.

One thing that I did notice was that all the learners go to the same place to learn – Park Langley. It’s nice and quite I suppose. But if you bought a half a million pound house, would you really wants loads of learners doing three point turns outside your house? I know I wouldn’t.

I hope to pass my test by Christmas. First of all though, I have to pass the theory. Have any of you done it yet? What’s it like? The waiting list for the practical teat is about ten weeks from passing the theory, so plenty of time yet to practice.

That’s all folks. A blog about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will appear within the next few days. It looks really good. The official site can be found here. The soundtrack sounds quite good.

Chiao!

So, what’s happened since my last post?

Well, quite a lot compared to my usual nothing-exciting-ever-happens existence. Last Friday I spent a day at the girl’s school to be talked to for 3 hours about applying to Oxbridge. The woman who was doing the presentation spoke unbelievably quickly. Stupid woman…

There was also a practice interview which, I felt went OK. At least I didn’t have Ernesto who, nobody could understand because of his strong, indescribable accent.

The whole of the following weekend was spent reading Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince. I had been waiting for this book to come out for several months, and so when it was delivered by the postman at 0745 on Saturday, I started reading it immediately. It took about 15 hours of reading but it was the most that I had ever read in two days; the full 607 pages. Of course, some of you will have read the book twice in the time that I took to read it, but I’m very pleased with my achievement.

The book itself started off quite slowly and gradually picked up pace. The last 100 pages or so were great, and the last chapter was quite emotional. If you haven’t read it yet (Dave), then you’ll know why it was emotional when you do. A fine read, but if you try to read this before the previous five books, or even before book five, STOP! Fool! Read them in order. They’re written like that for a reason.

In other less interesting news, I picked up me prefect badge on Tuesday. I’m now untouchable in the school! Hahahahahaha!!! Well, up to a point. At least I can now prove to those dickheads that say “well, where’s your badge then?” that I am actually a prefect, and a senior one at that.

That is all for now. End Post.

Weather: Sunny 24 C
Reading: Nothing at the moment. I think i'll start this soon
Listening to: Ghost Love Score - Nightwish
Watching: CSI series 5 finale last night. Does that count?
Confused about: Nothing really

Mood: Happy. School finishes tomorrow!

Jubilation to Devestation

Firstly, Yay! We got the Olympics! I know the reaction is slightly delayed, but I just haven’t had the time / couldn’t be bothered to blog recently. It should be good. Let’s hope I’m able to go to some of the events.

Secondly, I must blog about the bombs in London last Thursday, 7th July. In my opinion, it was inevitable that this would happen at some point. It was just a matter of when. It also could have been a lot worse. Many hundreds or even thousands could have died. Of course it is a huge tragedy that at least 52 people died. It should of course never have happened. I just hope the relatives of the victims get justice. Let’s hope the police can find the buggers who did this to our city.

In other news, It’s only 3days, seven hours, 42 minutes and 32 seconds until Harry Potter and The Half blood prince comes out. (The timing is from here.) I am looking forward to it. I thoroughly enjoyed book five. So much so, that I read it again. Let’s hope this is just as good. I have a feeling it could be even better.

Toodle pip

Weather: really hot. 28 C

Confused about: Who will become school captain. "Vote Dan. Stamping out Chavs"
Annoyed with: You guessed it - Chavs.

So, a long time has passed since the last post. Quite a lot has happened. Last Friday I went to the cinema in Croydon with Dave C, Steve, Jon, Rob, Dave J and Sanjay to see “War of the Worlds”. This was the modern adaption of the H. G. Wells Novel set in Victorian England. It was a very good film. That’s all there is to it. Special effects were excellent as with all Spielberg films, and it had decent actors in the form of Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning. Very good. I advise you go and see it if you haven’t. (If you’re Lewis, don’t bother. You’ll upset everybody else in the cinema by shouting obscenities throughout).

So, that was Friday. Saturday was spent lounging around all day in front of the television. Why, I hear you ask? Because of Live 8, that’s why. I watched the majority of the 10 hour marathon from Hyde Park, London. Most of which was excellent. Some of which was crap, such as Velvet Revolver. Pure Rubbish. Sunday was spent doing a tiny bit of work and going to see some relatives. Sehr Langweilig. Maybe I should have gone to the BBBQ. But then again, NO MEAT!!

School as usual on Monday, but after school was anything but usual. Jon and I had decided that we were both going to give blood! Yes it may seem mad, but I don’t think so. It’s not like I can’t afford to lose 470ml of it. (That’s under a pint, so not a lot). I didn’t feel any after affects, and didn’t feel sick or faint, which is good. Jon seemed to take an age whilst giving his. The whole process took well over an hour because it was really busy, which is good I suppose. Let’s hope the blood goes to a worthwhile cause. I’m sure it will.

Anyhow, back to the matters at hand. We started putting information onto the UCAS website today so that we can apply in September. Stuff like personal info, qualifications and AS levels. All rather boring really.

At registration today, all of the Senior Prefects voted for the new School Captain. Only the senior prefects were allowed to vote, which meant the only Lewis, Dave J and I are the only members of the blogosphere that we there, I think. I’m sorry if I forgot that you exist. Please forgive moi.

I fell that Costello or Sampson will get it, with Jo Aswani close behind in third. I hope Jo gets it rather than those other two. But, I’m keeping who I voted for quiet. If you wish to really know, ask me on MSN or face-to-face.

That is all for now my wonderful readers, friends and some who should get a life.

Tata
