Damn Year 11s. That's what this rant is about.

Here's the story for those of you who weren't there. Lucky you.

Break time today was slightly different in that we stood outside because the hall was being used by some Shakespeare play thingy. So, we stood by the music block as we always used to. I was very crowded as the cakes were being sold outside. There were people from many year groups, including the dreaded year 11s.

The particular group in question was about 10 big. Darstards. For most of break they decided to throw perfectly good food at us. ( Us being Lewis, MC Dave McC, Sanjay and myself).

This went on for about 7/8 minutes nad i said that if they throw food again, i'd go and confront them. Sure enough, they threw food again and true to my word, i confronted them. Here's how the conversation went:

Dan: "Why are you throwing food at us?" I directed this at a boy that i saw doing it. We'll call him year eleven scum, or YES.

YES:"What?"

Dan: "why did you just throw food at us?"

YES: "I didn't do nothing"

Dan: "er, yes you did. Why did you do it?"

So he just stands there looking surprised that i didn't let him, get away with it, and acting as if he did nothing. Anyway, the conversation continued. His friends thought that he was some God or something and in a way cheered him on. I told him to give me his contact diary, and i put out my hand. I was very enraged by this point. Idiot. He then slapped my hand like a girl. Then, the coward he is, he ran away. Fool. He was either scared or stupid. Hoefully both. And he was a chav. Need i say more about his personality?

I may still report him to Stewart, although i'm contemplating that one.

Elsewhere in the world of Dan, I got my German McOral mark back, I got an A. Very pleased i was too, because i thought i did disarsterously badly. Evidently not. Oh well, at least it wasn't a U.

That's all for now

I think it’s time I gave an update.

Firstly, german Oral. I had the mock of it today which, I thought would be bloody awful. I was really dreading it. It was during period one, but luckily I was not first to go. I spent a few hours last night attempting to memorise the presentation. Here comes the semi-rant.

Why should we have to learn all that we wish to say. This is an exam that examines our pronunciation more than anything else. We should be just allowed to read it out. Afterall, it’s all our own work anyway. Rant over, back to business.

So, Joe went before we and Lewis. He was first in the registar so went straight away at 0830. He was in there for about 20 minutes in total. He must have done quite well, even though his denies that.

Next up was Lewis who, I’m sure did very well. Or did you? Next was me. I had t read my presentation out, then answer questions for about 8 minutes on my chosen subject area: Auschwitz: Ein deutsches conzentrationslager und vernichtungslager. That’s a mouthful.

I started the presentation as I meant to go on: badly. I was awful. I got about half way through and forgot everything I had prepared for. Bugger I thought. Luckily Frau Launisch cut the presentation short, and started the questions. They were OK I suppose. I answered them all to the best of my ability at the time, which wasn’t a lot.

To sum up, I went to pieces. I will be happy with a C for the Mock, a B for the real which incidentally is on May 17th.

My next topic is the Conclave and the new Pope. As a Catholic, I’m quite pleased to see they have chosen a new Pontiff, and a German at that: Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger now known as Pope Benedict XVI. I’m looking forward to his Pontificate. It’s very exciting also because the conclave was so short. Less than 24 hours after they started, and he was elected. Brilliant!

This time next will I will hopefully have returned safely from our wonderful trip to the historic city of Oxford to be lectured about life at the University. It should be fun.

Well, today as always on Tuesdays I had the bitch. It was really fun – Stats. I would hate it if I got her again next year. Grrr. Mr. Nagra came into our class today to talk about Maths next year. He said two things:

i) If you get a U at AS you have to drop it. Paul’s got a lot of work to do then!

ii) You can do Further AS at A2 level. This would leave a timetable of 21 lessons. Rather full I think you’ll agree. I’m still debating as to whether to do it. During Nagra’s talk, the bitch kept staring at me as if to say “You WILL do further Maths next year!” Perhaps I can say “up yours” by just not doing it.

I think that’ll be it for now.

Wednesday, April 06, 2005

So, the first blog for April is here. It seems the months, and terms are whizzing by. Last time I looked, it was just the beginning of March. The exams will soon be upon us, again, but it’s not as bad as last summer. I believe I had 17 exams. Actually, it’s not that many more than the 12 I’m going to have this summer. General studies is a bugger, 3 exams, two of which are one after the other, on the same day as the C2 Maths exam. Why couldn’t they spread it out a bit more?

It’s about a month of “non-contact time” when the exams are on. Star Wars episode three comes out bang smack in the middle of them. Maybe they’ll do what they did with the third Harry Potter film and move it back a week to coincide with the start of half-term; or maybe not.

I’m looking forward to finishing this year. I’m looking for three As (Maths Physics and Chemistry) and a B in German. I’m definitely giving it up. No force on this Earth would want to make me continue that for another year. Sorry Lewis. This blog seems to have no real reason. It’s just to say what’s on my mind really.

Dave’s finally bought an ipod. Well done again. I’m looking forward to seeing it. If you’re reading this Jon, don’t forget the couple of data DVDs when we go back. And well done on the London trip mix, I think my choice of BGM works well. I’m looking forward to hearing the live version of da’ Bloggin’ rap, can’t wait.

I’ve had so much work these holidays. Too much of it was German. A listening, writing test to do, and correcting a reading and writing test. This is all on top of doing more for my Oral, which is the same week as the physics practical exam, about the 18th May I think.

I’ve still got to spend “four or five hours” doing the practice plan for the Beast. Hopefully it will tell me where I can improve, because there’s bound to be many things wrong with it, whatever I write down.

Our Chemistry class (mit der Dave) have got a revision class on Friday. Hopefully it will be with Westy, and not Abi. He’s a much better teacher, and the best thing is that his lessons are FUN! I look forward to his lessons. Can’t the trainee teach year seven or something? She’s an OK teacher; I may be portraying her worse than she actually is. I am slightly annoyed with some of the people in our class who ruin the learning experience for the rest of us. Oh well, some of our class will certainly be giving it up at the end of the year. I believe Casey is. I’m not, as I have already mentioned.

If you’re reading this, thank you. I hope you haven’t got board after the first sentence and given up. This post may have been a) one of the longest I’ve written (520 words so far) and b) one of the most boring, but frankly, I don’t care. It’s my blog and I shall write what I wish, whatever anybody’s opinion is on it. Do comment, as I enjoy knowing what you think, good or bad.

That’s all for now
