A lot has happened since I last posted, so I’ll whizz over the unimportant things.

Firstly, the cinema. Since my last post I have been to see two films: The chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and King Kong. In my opinion both of these films were excellent. I preferred King Kong simply because of the scene where a big 25 ft Gorilla is laughing at a woman dancing - very funny.

So, to the important stuff.

On 15th December I ventured up to Earl’s court in London to see one of my favourite bands in concert – Coldplay. I’d been looking forward to this since my Dad gave me the tickets as an early Christmas present about a month beforehand. They were absolutely amazing – a lot better than expected, and I was expecting it to be brilliant. I had a great time and they played all of their hits and more. Here is the set list from the concert:

1. Square One
2. Politik
3. Yellow
4. Speed of Sound
5. God Put A Smile Upon Your Face
6. Trouble
7. X & Y
8. How You See The World
9. White Shadows
10. The Scientist
11. ‘Til Kingdom Come / Hung Up
12. Green Eyes
13. Clocks
14. Talk

15. Shiver
16. In My Place
17. Fix You

You may not recognise some of the songs, but they are all from one of three of their albums, except for “How you see the world”, a track which I had never heard before – a bit like Nightwish and High Hopes. It was very good nonetheless. The best song was left until last – Fix You. An amazing guitar piece throughout the last half of the song gave spine-tingling enjoyment to the whole 7000 people or so. It seemed more than that though. Other amazing songs were: In My Place, Speed of Sound, White Shadows and Yellow. To be honest, every single song was performed immaculately. It was amazing. I did take my camera, in case you were wondering, so here are the photos:

Ah yes. Forgot to mention this. The support act for Coldplay was Richard Ashcroft, ex lead singer of The Verve. His act was actually not too bad, but poor in comparison to the main act.

Richard Ashcroft again

The opening song: Square One. And again. And again.

Yellow, which involved large yellow balloons which contained confetti.

In My Place. The second of three Encore songs. According to them, it was their second biggest selling single ever. (After speed of sound I assume)

The Final Song - a faultless rendition of “Fix You”. My favourite song.

Overall, This concert was amazing and worth every penny of whatever my Dad actually paid. Whether it was better than Nightwish or not, I don’t know. Both were amazing, but Coldplay’s performance was simply stunning – The whole thing.

Truly Brilliant
