OK, so what have I been doing for the last few days.
Well, on Tuesday Steve, Dave C, Dave J, Jon and myself went to see Constantine at Beckenham Cinema. It really wasn’t what I was expecting, and it wasn’t my sort of thing. It had demons and angels and the devil etc. which I didn’t really enjoy, but the special effects were great. I wouldn’t see the sequel, if there was one. A picture of the ticket can be found here.
Well, that was on Tuesday. I did a little bit of work on Tuesday, along with the cinema. There’s a story to tell actually. Here we go:
As usual, my Mum was planning to drop me at the cinema in her car, it’s cheaper than the bus and more convenient. But, it was Sod’s Law that the car wouldn’t start. We all know who’s behind that, don’t we?
Anyway, it turns out it was a flat battery. Bloody cars. Anyway, this means running to the bus stop for the 352, usually a ten minute walk. I had no idea what time the bus was, so ran just to be sure. I did find out though that I’m really unfit. The bus came at 1414, and so got me there on time. All was well.
So onto the main reason for this blog; the London trip yesterday. Yay!
The train was the usual, the 0936 from West Wickham. It was 10 minutes late though.
Here is a photo of Stewart taking a photo of me taking a photo, ah you get the idea. That was not a problem, just a slight inconvenience. We were originally going to get off at Waterloo East, but decided to leave the London Eye until the weather cleared up a bit, or so we thought…
We got off at Charing cross and walked up the mall, where we saw this, which was nice.
Here is a nice photo of the rest of the group, on the Mall. And here is the Queen’s house. I don’t think she was at home. After the mall we entered Green Park where, we filmed the Bloggin’ rap. MC DaveMcC was the lead of course. I’m looking forward to seeing that Megatrobe.
We then had a short break at Pret A Manger. here is Dave C, and Jon and Dave J. Sorry Stewart, keine Photo für dich.
After the break, we got the tube to Oxford circus where, i lead to group to HMV. Did any of you actually trust me that HMV was down that way? Aaaaaanyway, we browsed some CDs and ipods and then went back on the tube from Bond Street to Waterloo. Here, we tried to find some lunch, preferably some KFC, but there was none. There was this though. Very good they are too, the old Eurostars. We had luch at Burger King who, refused to give us chairs. Darstards. After a filling lunch and more walking we arrived here. The London Eye. Dave was so excited that he decided to act like Charles Nichols. I think that’s how you spell it anyway. He was also in awe of the London Eye. It was very big. We got our tickets, £12.50 each, and joined the queue. We were searched for bombs and queued some more. We eventually boarded at about 1410.
Here’s the nice structure.
Dave and Stewart looking very happy here.
It is a magnificent structure.
St. Paul’s in the distance. The weather was awful.
It really was that bad.
Here’s a pod.
And another.
An excellent photograph of the group.
The Houses of Parliament.
Jon thinking about how to conquer Otis.
This is a nice photo.
Well, after much merriment there, we headed for the arcade in County Hall. Fun was had there too. We walked across Westminster bridge to Westminster station where, we got the tube to Covent Garden. We also did the shortest tube ride in London. 38 Seconds it was. Leicester Square to Covent Garden. Covent Garden is a strange station in that there are no escalators. It’s lifts or stairs. We all chose the stairs. I won!! (Although it wasn’t a race, I hurt afterwards. Damn Lactic Acid. )
We saw a merry-go-round and went in the gadget shop. We then had a Starbuck’s and walked back to Charing Cross station to catch a train. On the way we saw a McDonalds with a McCafe and the McInternet. That was funny. Also, Jon attracted the attention from some strange guy who stared at him from about 1 foot in front of him. Could have been Otis I suppose. We got a train just in time, and watched Jon’s video on the way back. Fun was had yesterday it had to be said.
I was out of the house for seven hours and 25 minutes. That made a change.
